L'ultimo Osteria

 "l'ultimo" translated from Italian can mean "the latest" or "the last” (only time will tell).  Osteria in Italy was originally a place serving wine and simple food. Lately, the emphasis has shifted to the food, but menus tend to be short, with the emphasis on local specialties such as pasta and grilled meat or fish, often served at shared tables.

The Parillo family has been in the food business on Amsterdam’s Southside for more than 40 years. It all began when they opened the Armory Grill in 1973. Eventually, they expanded the bar into a full service Italian restaurant serving meals made from the recipes of their parents and grandparents. Next came La cucina di Parillo, then the Southside Coffee Shop and now l’ultimo osteria!
